Job Description
Our client is looking for an Analytical Development Research Associate with the creativity and passion for method development and characterization of great medicines for rare and ultra-rare diseases. The Research Associate will be part of the Analytical Development group under the Technical Development Organization.
This position will be responsible for assisting in developing novel bioassays for early and late stage clinical development programs, assist in assay pre- qualification and transfer, troubleshoot experiment. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work in the lab under limited supervision. This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to achieve corporate goals and objectives
Responsibilities:
- Maintains cell cultures, harvests and cryopreserves cells
- Develop and optimize mechanism of action (MoA) reflective potency assays using appropriate platform technologies, such as ELISA, enzymatic assay, and/or cell-based system
- Perform routine plate based assays including BCA, In Cell Western and enzymatic assays
- Assists Scientists in optimizing and developing cell based assays
- Qualify reference standards and critical reagents for use in cell based assays.
- Generate and thoroughly document results
- Provide routine in-house analytical testing support to process development and formulation development groups
- Perform in-house assay pre-qualification/qualification or assist contract lab to conduct assay qualification and validation following appropriate regulatory guidelines
- Perform timely data trending and statistical analysis to evaluate assay performance
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Scientific degree in Immunology, Cell biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline
- B.S. or M.S. with 3-5 years, PhD with 2 years relevant experience performing cell-based potency assays
- Experience in measuring the cellular processes (Kinase, ATPase, signaling) using the plate based techniques, such as including fluorescent and Luminescence is preferred.
- Experience with kit based assays (ELISA and Cell viability) are preferred.
- Experience with HCP ELISA is plus.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical analysis software, such as JMP, PLA, and SoftMax is preferred
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to learn a complex task with general instructions and training
- Flexible; adapts work style to meet organization needs
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, reasoning, and problem solving
- Capable of completing assigned responsibilities and keeping manager informed of work status
- Strong collaboration, team-working skills and communication skills
