Job Description

Our client is looking to add a Process Development Associate to their team on a contract basis. Length of contract: 12 months w/possible extension.

Responsibilities Include:

Management of BST laboratories:
  • Assist in organization and help improve productivity of facility through adherence to 5S principles.
  • Assist in coordination and tracking of work orders for facility and equipment repairs, maintenance, installation, and removal.
  • Participate in scheduled lab cleanout activities (biannual) and safety walkthroughs (monthly).

Equipment and Instrument Owner:
  • Support coordination of preventative maintenance, calibration, daily system initializations, and repair service of equipment and instruments
  • Help maintain process-related instrumentation, lab automation tools, reactor equipment and stocking of parts, accessories, and point-of-use consumables

Inventory Maintenance and Chemical/Equipment Ordering & Shipping:
  • Order and organize laboratory reagents and consumables to support laboratory experimentation
  • Generate purchase orders, chemical shipping documents, and equipment orders
  • Support incoming/outgoing shipments of tools, ancillary processing equipment, and consumables and chemicals

Support of Cell Culture Activities:
  • Sample and passage mammalian cell cultures for cell growth and metabolites
  • Basic operation of 3L glass bioreactors in fed batch and perfusion modes
  • Operation of related equipment including cell counters, metabolite analyzers, and osmometers
  • Document experimental data in lab notebooks (if applicable)
  • Provide weekend support for the above operations as needed

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • 0+ Years w/ Relevant BS OR equivalent 2+ Years w/ Relevant AS OR equivalent 4+ Years w/ HS Foundational knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform routine work in a role.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory environment (ideally execution of cell culture or purification related tasks) is required.
  • Basic computer skills, able to learn and navigate new software/databases.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
