Job Description
Our client is seeking an Associate Director, Alliance Management to contribute to their mission to create a new generation of transformative medicines for patients by driving the vision and objectives for all key clinical and bioanalytical laboratory partners within Clinical Development Operations (CDO). The Associate Director, Alliance Management will develop and manage the governance and communication model and implement on and deliver strategies for the partnerships.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading and implementing successful partnerships with new vendor collaborations and maintenance and/or improvement on existing partnerships
-
Contribute to and oversee the governance model with each assigned vendor
-
Establish agreed upon sponsor/vendor obligations and ensure proactive consideration of impact to outsourced studies for their processes and requirements

Facilitate change management with internal stakeholders and vendor for process modifications
-
Plan, implement, and monitor activities of partnerships in collaboration with internal functional leadership/teams

Drive and support teams in resolution of conflicts at all levels

Manage performance per scorecard/metrics evaluation and analysis

Maintain organizational alignment across entities

Evaluate vendor capabilities to identify new opportunities for optimization and innovate

Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across entities

Collaborate internally and across organizations to ensure alignment of information, best practices, and to standardize processes if applicable

Monitor cultural fit with vendor and adapt expectations

Identify and execute select projects and initiatives to ensure effective and optimized delivery within each partnership
Develop and manage partnership governance:
-
Implement a fit-for-purpose governance model and communication plan customized to each vendor

Lead interactions/chair committees with vendor by developing agenda, setting priorities for discussions, capturing meeting minutes and tracking action items

Track progress and provide updates to their leadership and key stakeholders
-
Support contract negotiations/renegotiations, including MSAs, with functional areas, Procurement and Clinical Outsourcing
Partnership relationship building:
-
Influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver the partnership objectives; including, but not limited to, prioritizations, budget, and strategic planning

Identify and document best practices for different partnerships to evaluate implementation with the clients vendors

Support CDO in driving a partnering mindset
Requirements / Qualifications:
-
Bachelor' s Degree in relevant discipline required; advanced degree preferred
-
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with at least 4 years of experience in alliance and/or vendor management

Proven track record of governing and managing external partnerships within the laboratory space

Demonstrated relevant business acumen including:

Project management, meeting facilitation and interpersonal skills

Analytic skills, including experience across finance and establishing and monitoring metrics aligned with KPIs/KQIs/KRIs

Strategic and innovative thinking

Problem-solving skills and solutions-oriented approach
