Job Description


Our Client is seeking an energetic and motivated cancer biologist to join their Discovery Biology group in order to help drive cutting-edge oncology drug discovery programs. You will report to the Head of Discovery Biology and lead biology efforts drug discovery programs. 

Responsibilities:
  • Working independently and creatively to design and execute cell-based experiments to characterize the mechanism of action small molecule drug candidates and advance understanding of target biology
  • Developing novel cell-based assays and implementing new technologies to support drug discovery programs
  • Leading and mentoring research associates on experimental design, execution, integrated data analysis, and interpretation
  • Collaborating within cross-functional project teams to support drug discovery programs from validation to clinical candidate selection
  • Collaborating with the functional genomics and target identification teams to generate novel oncology target opportunities
  • Interpreting, summarizing and presenting research findings at internal and external scientific meetings

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • PhD or equivalent in Cell & Molecular Biology or related discipline. Expertise in chromatin biology, cancer epigenetics or transcriptional regulation a plus
  • 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, experience as project or biology lead preferred
  • Track record of productivity in oncology research as demonstrated by publications in high impact peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring junior research scientists as well as prior experience working with CROs or academic collaborators
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and excellent problem-solving ability
