Our Client – a leading distributor and processor of metals in North America – is currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join its North sales team servicing the South Dakota area. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing and growing business from new or unsold customers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating all of the sales and customer service activities within the assigned accounts. This position involves daily, face-to-face interactions with a broad customer base in both size and industry.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Quickly builds strong relationships with contacts at all levels across a variety of functions within customer organizations but especially with purchasing decision makers. Develops customer personnel trust and confidence in the company and its representatives.
  • Understanding of the goals and concepts of our client’ s business to develop daily goals in order to exceed sales and profitability targets.
  • Keeps customers informed about industry and economic trends and company’ s ability to assist customers in adapting to change.
  • Works closely and expects daily interaction with inside sales, operations, procurement, credit and other members of the sales team in order to achieve both the client’ s and their customers’ objectives.
  • Understands and keeps up-to-date on the competitive environment and provides market intelligence to sales management to help shape service center sales strategies, price levels and working capital decisions.
  • Increases revenue from assigned customers by increasing product lines or items sold.
  • Increases buying account base by proactively targeting prospective customers.
  • Involves service center management, regional management, Global Accounts, or other corporate management, and supplier representatives in establishing and maintaining relationships at all levels of customer organization.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor' s Degree strongly preferred
  • Aggressive, competitive, self-motivated with a “ Say Yes!” attitude
  • Proficient with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong math aptitude
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem solving/conflict resolution and negotiating skills
